On February 6, 2006 I embarked on a journey. I learned much through this adventure. As a member of Cadre 8 (a cohort of nine graduate students), I learned that collaboration in a community of learners is not only beneficial, but necessary. Luckily, (well, not luck--but God's hand) we had a wonderful group of learners--and professors.

As I work towards the finishing projects, I am already beginning to feel the loss of great learning and companionships. Yes, I said "companionships." Although this program was entirely online, Cadre 8 formed such bonds that's it's difficult to imagine our disbanding. While I'm in Merced, California (the Central Valley), one lives in northern California and several cadre mates are in southern California. We have one in Germany, one in New York, and one in Tennessee. Our professors live in California, Florida, and Washington.
