What's this Project About?
Why I started this Project:
I created this Global Learning Project as a requirement for my Master of Arts in Educational Technology degree from Azusa
Pacific University in Azusa, California. Also, having read some of Thomas Friedman's book, The World is Flat, made me aware that this global awareness is crucial in today's world. Everywhere I turn, folks are talking about global education.
Because I teach the course Business Communication every semester at Merced Community College in the Central Valley of California, USA, I decided to create a Global Learning Project that would allow my students to learn and share with others about how to do business with other cultures--successfully. This means learning about different cultures and being sensitive to their values and beliefs.
What we are trying to do:
Through this project we are attempting to reach out globally to research different countries/cultures. We are looking for "experts" who have successfully done business with other cultures to make eAppearances in a chat session or communicate via e-mail. We'd also like to hear from business owners in various cultures.
